Norfolk Showground

Supporting the Showground and events

About the Norfolk Showground

Based on the outskirts of Norwich, the Norfolk Showground is a prestigious charity who is a nationally recognised venue for concerts, conferences and more. The 150 acre site is host to many iconic events each year, such as the Royal Norfolk Show and Race for Life.

Their mission for 2023 is to increase their recycling rates and work towards a more sustainable business model - making Anglian the ideal partner to support their environmental goals.

Meet the client

In March 2023 we were pleased to roll out our new Anglian bins across the Norfolk Showground site. Previously, the Showground only had general waste bins, meaning that none of their recyclable material was being segregated - not only does this have a negative impact on the environment, it was also less cost effective for the client.

Since the roll out of our bins on site, we have worked to implement new waste streams and increase awareness of recycling. So far, dry mixed recycling bins have been introduced to steadily improve recycling rates. In the near future, we plan to work with our client to utilise further waste streams, such as glass and food waste, to correctly segregate materials.

During major events throughout the year, we will support the Norfolk Showground by offering increased collections and implementing more waste streams.

"We were looking for a new partner to help us responsibly recycle materials produced by the Showground and events. It was important for us that the service was delivered in a cost-effective and efficient way. Anglian proposed an operational plan to help us achieve our sustainability goals and we are pleased to team with them to manage the Showgrounds waste on a weekly basis, as well as having them support our events."
